Bruce Peil

GREAT NEWS FOR OUR OCTOBER ECAA MEETING!

Bruce Peil, well known and successful landscape oil painter will be our demo artist for the first meeting at our new location, the First Baptist Church. The church is located at 450 US Hwy 287 Bypass, Waxahachie, TX 75165. Make plans now to addend this very informative meeting and fellowship of Artists.

Bruce will bring his unique style and stories of his experiences to share with us that Monday, October 2, 2023 meeting. Meeting starts at 6:30 p.m., with mini-show and snacks starting at 6:00 p.m.

ABOUT BRUCE PEIL

Bruce was born and raised in Oklahoma and now resides in Athens, Texas.  He is a signature member of the Oil Painters of America,  the co-founder of the Outdoor Painters Society,  a member of the Oklahoma Society of Impressionists and the American Impressionists Society.  His paintings are widely collected and he is primarily known for his landscape paintings.  "No matter what the subject matter is, it's that fleeting moment in time and the feeling of the light and air, that I strive most to capture in my paintings.  I want the viewer to feel as though they are experiencing that moment in time.  My goal is to capture the truth about the subject without over embellishment of color or too many unimportant details that can distract the eye from the main idea. The feeling of the light and air."

Bev Boren's Demo piece for Ellis County Art Association

Our June 5th meeting was awesome with Bev Boren's beautiful demonstration of her techniques in Oils.

ROSES AND VASE
Before the monthly meeting started,(6:00 p.m til 6:30 p.m.) members and visitors enjoyed snacks and drinks and conversation with the attending artist and patrons. The Art on the Square Gallery is a beautiful venue for art and fellowship.

Seven O'clock brought the beginning of Bev Boren's fascinating demonstration, and amazingly she wrapped it up at 8:00. Bev is an accomplished, award winning artist who really awed those who attended the monthly meeting with her expertise with brush and oils. As she painted she described her methods and reasons for the path she takes to create her oil paintings.

This included information about her color palette, supports and the brushes she uses. Bev also brought some samples of her past work which added to the overall intrigue of the demonstration.
