MAY - GUEST ARTIST
A FEW WORDS FROM TAMMY.....
“Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up.”
-- Pablo Picasso
ABOUT THE ARTIST.....
After a 24-year career as an art director at Verizon, I decided it was time to take a sharp new turn into a new direction -- one that I could make fine art a bigger focus in my life.
For the past 10 years I have been teaching art students at area colleges as an adjunct instructor. The dynamics of teaching gives me the opportunity to learn something new about art EVERY DAY! New artists, past artists, color theory, elements and principles of design….
As anyone who knows me can attest, I am always exploring and experimenting new techniques, paints, surfaces, in 2D and 3D. I won’t contend that I have a mastered a particular style, but I sure have a lot of fun exploring the possibilities of using watercolor, acrylic, water crayons, pen and ink and block printing. I am also a sketchbook addict.
This past year I started teaching a textile class at the Dallas Art Institute and have discovered yet another new passion … Marbling.
Join in the fun! Everyone attending will have a chance to marble a piece of paper as Tammy explains the process of marbling on paper and silk.
