**PRE-PAINT opportunity: Registered artists are eligible to paint any day, anywhere in Ellis County, April 13 through May 12! For your painting to qualify for awards, exhibition, & sale, your painting support must have the offical event stamp! Canvas, paper, etc. can be "stamped" at ART on the Square during regular business hours: Tuesday – Saturday, 10-6, Sunday 1-5.
To be included in the Event Program "Collectors Guide to a Paint Out", you must register by April 15.

ELIGIBILITY & REQUIREMENTS
The 14th Annual Paint Historic Waxahachie is open to any artist 18 and over. Work submitted should reflect the best quality of your plein air painting. In the spirit of plein air and to Level the field" of competition, we ask that all art be completed in the field (no studio touch-up). Artists must agree to paint a minimum 2 days (or sessions) on location during the official 7 day paint week, May 17th through 26th. Canvas, board or paper must be authenticated (stamped) prior to painting. Artists are required to submit a minimum of 2 paintings for the exhibition and sale.
LOCATION:
Painting locations include (but not limited to) historic homes, the Waxahachie Courthouse Square and surrounding Historic District, our city park, and a 5-mile hiking/biking trail that runs through town, plus special access to private properties.
OTHER INFORMATION
The designated paint out areas throughout Waxahachie have been selected to give artists plenty of exposure and opportunity for sales. Our event publication, “Collector’s Guide to a Paint Out” is designed to promote and market the artists, their art and the event. Paint Historic Waxahachie 2019 is a fund-raising event hosted by the Ellis County Art Association, a 501(c)3 non profit corporation. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of art will benefit Ellis County Art Association community fine art programs.
