Spring is almost here! I'm SO ready for warmer days - I'm sure all of you are too! Our Event calendar is overflowing with upcoming classes, workshops, competitions & exhibitions! The Student Art Exhibit is one of my favorite exhibitions. Ellis County Art Association hosts about 500 creative art originals submitted by Ellis County students in grades Pre-K through 12. In addition to awarding 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Honorable Mention awards in all grades, we also award scholarships to 2 graduating Seniors. This year we're delighted to announce that another scholarship will be awarded by the Shelley Nance Memorial Art Scholarship Fund! Please plan to attend the awards reception; the date & time is on our Events Calendar.
In April, we begin the "pre-paint" in preparation for the 15th Annual Paint Historic Waxahachie in May. Several classes are forming so be sure and check them out...I'll bet there's a class for you!
Our guest artist for March is Lucille Carter - and we're all in for a treat! Her pastel work is wonderful...please plan to attend and help us welcome Lucille to Waxahachie.

On February 7, the Ellis County Art Association participated in the Tim Tebow Foundation’s “Night To Shine” Special Needs Prom for over 150 special needs “Kings and Queens” who attended, along with additional hundreds of guests, their families and friends special needs individuals. Dave McSpadden and Barbara Woods represented our Association and supported the variety of activities, with an arts table to allow them to make their own Valentines for loved ones. The Night to Shine events took place in all 50 states and multiple countries around the world. Please visit the website https://www.timtebowfoundation.org/ministries/night-to-shine to learn more about this very special event. We're honored that we were invited to participate and thanks to Dave & Barbara for helping to make it a special evening for the event attendees - Below are some of the photos from this popular event activity.
