CALL FOR ART - 2021 STUDENT ART EXHIBIT

For almost 40 years, Ellis County Art Association has sponsored an exhibit of art from students across Ellis County.  The Association is pleased to announce CALL FOR ART for the 2021  Ellis County Student Art Exhibit.


ELIGIBILITY:  The Student exhibit is open to all Ellis County school students, in grades from Pre-K thru 12 .  It is open to students from public schools, charter and private schools, and home school associations.  
All art work must be executed in the classroom under the instruction of the teacher.

WORKS OF ART:  Each student may submit one piece of art with a maximum size of 12" x 18" for 2-dimensional works.  3-dimensional works should not exceed 12" x 10" x 8".  

SENIOR STUDENT SCHOLARSHIPS:  T
wo (2) $500, and one (1) $1,000 scholarships  will be awarded to high school students who are planning to pursue artistic training at an accredited college, university, or art school.  Details are on Page 4 of the Student Packet of Instructions.  

FORMS FOR SUBMISSION:  Scroll down to bottom of this page for links to complete 4-page Student Packet or individual pages that can be downloaded and completed by computer. 
One form from pages 2 and 3 should be submitted by each teacher that includes students. Use additional copies of these pages if needed. The same forms can be printed and completed by hand. 

IMPORTANT DATES:  

February 15 - March 5: Teachers must register by March 5,  how many students will be participating by grade so gallery space can be planned. Deadline for Registration Submission is March 5.

March 18 - 20:  1:00 - 400 PM - Art must be delivered to ART on the Square Gallery, 113 W. Franklin, Waxahachie.  The gallery is located on the Waxahachie courthouse square. 

March 23 - March 28 - The student exhibit will be open to the public, 12:00 pam - 4:00 pm, Tuesday - Friday, 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Saturday, and 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm Sunday. 

March 27  Due to current Covid-19 restrictions, a  reception will not be scheduled.  Virtual Awards will be given and Winners artwork highlighted on the Art on the Square's YouTube Channel.

March 30 & 31, 1:00 – 4:00 pm, and April 3, 11:00 am – 6:00 pm  - Teachers are responsible for picking up students' work.
