The opportunity to learn how to make your drawings comes to
life is here in the new Charcoal Pencil Essentials course being
offered by Dave McSpadden at the Ellis County Art
Association. Developing the techniques and skills to use light
and dark values to make your artwork “pop” is something
everyone can learn with Dave’s teaching methods. You draw
along with your instructor and receive personal feedback on
your progress as your skills unfold.
Dave uses time-tested tools and methods to assist you in your development
as as artist over a six week course. His methods can take a serious student
from drawing stick figures to real representative art with study and practice.
These are hands-on classes where you can develop your confidence no
matter what your current skill level may be. Focusing on image capture,
proportionality, contrasts and perspectives, each participant will be
challenged to take their drawing skills to another level. Basic materials to complete the class are included by the instructor.

Each child will create their own unique painting. Students will learn about applying paint, using a brush properly, how to compose and balance their design and use color. All supplies will be provided including a large canvas.
